Supervisor's Actions from Sept. 2 meeting

The Mitchell County Board of Supervisors acted on the following items at their September 2 meeting: 1. Agreed to tentatively accept an offer from the 360 Network on back taxes pending confirmation of the agreed upon amount by both parties.

2. Made a motion to authorize the chair to sign the Federal Report for the Mitchell County Sheriff's Department.

3. Met with Jim Wherry who was representing County Engineer Jim Hyde. A. Wherry had some expense figures for new tanks and accessories for St. Ansgar and Riceville in lieu of setting up a county wide fuel purchasing system for the schools, cities and county organizations in Mitchell County. Action was tabled on the matter until further discussion was held with all parties. B. Wherry discussed road repair and maintenance and mowing taking place in the county. C. Wherry discussed work being done on the Lime Kiln road project. D. Wherry also discussed that he is working with FEMA doing field review on flood damage within the county.

4. The Board authorized the chair to sign a weed letter notice involving a weed problem in Mona.

5. The Board would check into bids for replacing a section of shingles on the Mitchell County Courthouse.

6. The Board made a motion to accept a bid of $10,226.50 from Waylon Brown Construction of St. Ansgar for work on the sidewalks around the courthouse and sheriff's office area. 7. The Board tabled action on accepting bids for shingles for the County Annex Building until actual costs are determined.
