Look for extension council candidates on Nov. 4 ballot

Voters will have the opportunity to elect four members to the Mitchell County Extension Council at the Nov. 4, 2008, general election, says Neil M. Wubben, Mitchell County extension education director. Candidates on this year's ballot include: Linda Kruse, Stacyville; Steve Rachut, Osage; Annette Jellum, Osage; Shari Klaes, Riceville; Perry Weigle, Osage; and Cynthia Hemann, Osage. Council members whose terms expire this year are: Annette Jellum, Osage; Rita Johnston, Osage; Brenda Miller, Osage and; Kari Schwarting of Osage.

Carryover council members whose terms continue through the end of 2010 are: Scott Brandau, Osage; Dennis Dieterich, St. Ansgar; Keith Heimer, St. Ansgar; Gregg Maakestad, Osage and Shawn Sponheim of Osage

Successful candidates in the Nov. 4, 2008, election will take office in January 2009. Extension council members make policy, programming and budget decisions for the Mitchell County Extension Service.

The Cooperative Extension System nationwide provides informal education opportunities on a variety of topics. For more information contact the Mitchell County Extension Service, 315 Main St., Osage. ISU Extension has 105 field offices, providing local access to extension programs in all 99 counties.
